Temporary Closure of Public Footpath FP0212001 – Garstang

Lancashire County Council has made a Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic Order affecting Public Footpath FP0212001 in Garstang, Wyre.
Location:
From the junction with FP0212004 at Point A (SD 4938 4530), northwards for approximately 190 metres to the junction with FP0212002 at Point B (SD 4932 4513).
Reason for Closure:
The closure is necessary due to erosion of the riverbank, which presents a risk to public safety.
Duration:
The footpath will be closed from 10 February 2026 for up to 6 months, or until the works are completed, whichever is sooner.
Access:
Pedestrian access to properties and premises along the footpath will be maintained at all times.
Exemptions:
The order does not apply to emergency services, County Council Public Rights of Way officers on foot, or those undertaking the works.
