Free - Brand new Environmental Education Facility

We are excited to share some great news. Eco Town, our brand new environmental education facility, has now opened at the Environmental Education Centre, Farington Waste Recovery Park, Leyland.
Eco Town is a free, hands on learning experience that brings recycling and sustainability to life. During your visit, you will find out how household waste is sorted, recycled, and even turned into renewable energy. Our Walkway Tour also explores simple, everyday choices, like shopping habits and waste reduction that can make a big difference to our planet.
Visitors can wander through three themed areas. Material, Mechanical, and Bio, and explore 13 fun, interactive streets. There is also an Education Room for group activities or discussions, plus an Outdoor Zone with an auditorium, covered seating area, solar farm, and wildlife area to enjoy.
