Youth Mayor

If you know a child/young person aged between 13 and 17 who wants to make a difference for their community, please ask them to consider applying to be the Youth Mayor.

The Youth Mayor provides a fantastic opportunity to get involved in local events and be the voice of young people in Wyre. The role helps ensure that young people’s views are heard and that they have a real influence on the decisions that affect them.

Deadline: Thursday 23rd April (Interviews will take place on Thursday 30 April 2026 from 4:30pm.)

FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES

OPENING SOON: Community Cohesion Grants

Who for: Constituted community groups, charities and social enterprises

How much for: Small grants up to £5K (10 available) and large grants up to £25K (4 available)

The grants will be administered in partnership with Community First Blackpool, Wyre & Fylde.

Mark Trent, Community Engagement Officer at Wyre Council, is available to discuss ideas and proposals before the application window opens. Mark says: ‘We are proud to announce the availability of funds totalling £150K to support existing and new groups to improve community cohesion. ASDA Community Spaces Fund

Deadline: 28th April

Who for: Charities and CICs (likely near an ASDA store – so in Wyre’s case, Fleetwood)

What for: Repairs, renovations, and development of community spaces

How much for: £10,000 to £20,000
