OPPORTUNITY – SCAMS AWARENESS WORKSHOP

Would you like more information to raise warning signs of scams? If so, we have a training morning to raise awareness of this important issue. It will be on Wednesday 30th September between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon at the Civic Centre, Breck Road, Poulton-Le-Fylde and delivered by Age UK Lancashire. This will be a free event.

OPPORTUNITY – HEALTH & WELLBEING COMMUNITY CONNECTORS

Could you be one of 2 Health & Wellbeing Community Connectors to join Wyre Council’s Leisure, Healthy Lifestyles and Communities Team?

The roles are funded by Lancashire County Council’s Public Health Team on a fixed-term contract until 31st March 2029. They are part-time, 28 hours per-week at Grade 5.

Lloyds Bank Foundation Good Place to Live: New Beginnings Fund

Deadline: 9th September

Who for: Charities, CICs

What for: Projects for people leaving the care system, an abusive relationship, prison, or for people leaving the asylum system.

How much for: £100,000 for organisations with a turnover less than £100,000. There is also a £200,000 grant for organisations with a higher income.

Thomas Wall Trust

Deadline: 11th September

Who for: Charities with a turnover higher than £25,000

What for: Projects that award participants with an accredited vocational qualification during or within 2 months of completion. The project should help improve communication skills of disadvantaged adults and NEET people for employment.

The Theatres Trust

Deadline: Midday on 11th September

Who for: Organisations owning or running theatre with leases of more than 5 years

What for: Purchase of key plant & machinery, replacement of inefficient and out-dated equipment, improvements to heating and building insulation, planting sedum roofs or green walls, and general impactful, high-quality interventions.

How much for: Grants of up to £20,000

Cash for Kids – Sports Challenge

Deadline: 14th September

Who for: Charities, CICs (with 3 directors), schools and sports groups

What for: Projects that encourage disadvantaged or disabled children to fundraise through sport (the organisation keeps the funds raised and receives an equivalent grant).

How much for: The top three fundraising groups will receive an extra £5,000, £2,000 and £1,500 (the equivalent to what has been raised)

The Children’s Alliance (Water Babies Swim School)

Deadline: 15th September

Who for: Community groups, charities, CICs and schools (must have a safeguarding policy)

What for: Projects for children under the age of 18 to have access to water in the form of swimming lessons, transport to lessons, swimwear and water play equipment.

How much for: Most grants are for £5,000

Transformation Programme for Regional Museums (Arts Council)

Deadline: 30th September (opens 1st September)

Who for: Accredited regional and non-national museums (must be Arts Council England accredited)

What for: Digital transformation, organisational restructuring or change activity, work that improves income generation and financial sustainability

How much for: £50,000 to £1 million per project

Who for: Christian places of worship

What for: Kitchen & toilet upgrades and urgent repairs

How much for: Kitchen and toilet upgrades costing over £30,000. Up to £50,000 for projects costing over £80,000
