Lancashire Community Transport - For those that are not aware, Lancashire Community Transport provides safe, considerate and accessible transport to people who can’t use regular public transport for a variety of reasons and to other non-profit groups. They combat loneliness and isolation in urban and rural areas of central Lancashire, helping to keep people active, engaged in their communities and contribute positively to their health & well-being. Lancashire Community Transport are currently looking to recruit volunteer drivers. All volunteers would have a DBS & Driving check. There are currently 20-30 requests for car trips per week in Wyre, not just for medical appointments but for lunch club trips etc. Every request is carefully considered. Up to 20 miles is the usual length of trip and 50p per mile, paid in cash. If you would like to volunteer, please email communitycars@prestonct.org.uk or contact 01772 204667.
Cyber Crime - The Cyber Crime Unit at Lancashire Constabulary are looking to increase awareness to highlight Cyber Crime, support available and actions to prevent incidents. They have already arranged a couple of events for care home business’s and would like to expand this to, Children's services, for Children's Homes and with Foster Carers, NHS Trust providers including Dentists, GPs, Pharmacies, Charities and communities, Small Businesses e.g. Vets, Public. Tesco Stronger Starts – Cooking for All Fund - Deadline 30 May 2025 - A limited number of one-off grants up to £1,000 are available for not-for-profit organisations and schools for projects in local communities across the UK that grow children and young people’s (up to the age of 16 ) knowledge of food and cooking skills, particularly how to cook. Ernest Cook Trust - Outdoor Essentials Grant - Grants are available up to £1000 for UK state funded primary and secondary schools to enable them to get their pupils learning outdoors. The current round of funding offers grants for the following areas:
- Nature and Nurture – school grounds improvements.
- Transport and Travel – transport costs to outdoor learning venues.
- Wellies and Waterproofs – outdoor clothing.

WCIT – IT4Good Grant Programme – Deadline 18 August 2025 - Grants up to £15,000 are available for not-for-profit organisations across the UK to deliver IT projects and activities that support the themes of education, inclusion, IT for charities, and understanding of IT. Westminster Foundation - Small Grants – Grants up to £10,000 are available for registered charities working in rural communities in Lancashire to create opportunities for young people (up to 25 years of age) and their families to have the resilience, skills and capacity to lead happy and healthy lives. Funding Reminders
Police & Crime Commissioner Summer Community Fund – Deadline 26 May 2025 – Funds are available up to £3000 and will once again support projects that engage young people at risk or in need of positive support during the summer holidays. This includes diversionary activities, prevention initiatives, and targeted interventions. Community Foundation for Lancashire – Grants up to £10,000 are available for community organisations for projects and activities that contribute to stronger and more vibrant communities in Lancashire and lead to long-term benefits to the local population. Crowdfund Lancashire (Update) - will reopen on Tuesday 20th May and will close on Tuesday 1st July. If you have an idea for a project to improve the culture or sport offer in your local community, then you could get up to £15,000 towards your target from the Lancashire Culture and Sport Fund.
The Autumn 2025 funding round will open with a launch event webinar on Tuesday 20 May 1pm. Anyone can attend this session and can sign up to the webinar here. Please do sign up for the workshop even if you can’t attend, you will be sent the recording of the webinar afterwards.

Access Without Limits Grants for Community Organisations - Grants are available up to £10,200 for voluntary, community and social enterprise sector organisations to allow them to set up and deliver the Duke of Edinburgh Award to create more opportunities for marginalised young people (14 to 24 years) to access the Award. Skelton Charity – Deadline 30 May 2025 - Grants up to £3000 are being made to legally constituted registered charities established in the historical county of Lancashire. Priority will be given to:
- Equipment for organisations supporting the elderly and people with disability and for youth groups.
- Small specific capital projects of proven viability from community groups.
At the discretion of the trustees, a 10% contribution towards the costs of overheads may also be awarded.
